DOJ Consultations With Tribes on Implementation of VAWA 2013

Department of Justice| Invitation: Consultation on the Implementation of the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2013

The Department of Justice has issued an invitation to conduct government-to-government consultations with tribes on the Implementation of the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2013 (VAWA).  Get a copy of the letter and framing paper to Tribal Leaders here.  The framing paperoutlines some of the particular issues on which the DOJ seeks input.  The DOJ will be hosting telephonic consultations on Tuesday, May 14, and Friday, May 17, 2013, both at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time.  Please RSVP for the call by sending the name, title, and e-mail address of the authorized speaker for your tribe to OTJ@usdoj.gov.

The DOJ will also accept written comments due before the close of business on Monday, May 20, 2013.  Please send written comments to OTJ@usdoj.gov.
